Eid al Adha

On Monday we celebrated our second Holiday of the year...it's the holiday of sacrifice which comes after the annual pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia (God willing I'll be making my trip and pilgrimage BEFORE I'm 40) I had a 'peaceful' day. I didn't take the kids out of school but my sister and I got to hang out and spend quality time together. It wasn't a normal Holiday because I wasn't 'able' to visit mom. Visiting the cemetery is something we do every Holiday after prayer but this past Monday neither my sister or I were able to do that (certain time of the month we're not allowed to visit the cemetery). It was my first experience since mom's been sent to Heaven that I wasn't able to visit and honestly wasn't prepared for it. I got through the day with my sister and went home and spent a wonderful evening with my kids. Since the Holiday fell on a Monday this year, the festivals and parties will take place on Saturday. We plan on going to the festival with the kids and enjoying our family celebration.
